2010 is 31 (Part 1)

Admit it. If you're a guy and you love TVB, don't come and tell me you watch it just for the good plot and script. Don't make yee self a joke. Even I know better. I like the girls admittedly. But what happens when the hot chicks start to grow old and the new Ms hong Kong paegant people look like jokes, well at least not as pretty as maybe Fala. No good script? No good plot? Same boring old (but handsome) actors? No young babes? Why watch?

Wait. Then when you've began to lose hope with TVB and

go eat kimchi, TVB gives you a magnificent 2008 and 2009 chockful of gems and jewels.True.

A Journey Called Life. other than featuring one of the best couples in TVB now (ahem) faced real life issues such as rape, teenage waywardness and other issues which rarely they ever show. then they had Last One Standing which let me say is really really good, with "Ah Wang" Roger Kwok being excellent at his villian role and Kevin Cheng as a vengeance-filled gangster this drama is gripping and powerful. What once came out was directionless and boring dramas turned slightly better- with Moonlight Resonance. Every drama was a soap in its own glory, with catfights,bitches,sizzling love scenes(i made this up) and INCEST and THIS GAVE IT 50 POINTS. Then there was the aunties version of Ocean's Eleven - Catch Me Now and the fun but retarded D.I.E. There was the very long name which i cant remember and havent watched that starred Joe Ma, Liza Wang and Charmaine Sheh and began with a When. There was the romantic drama The Seventh Day which played on the Kevin and Niki scandal and was suprisingly....real...but boring. AND who could forget Forensic Heroes 2 - that mess of a show, at least for the middle part. FH2 turned out a poorer sequel than i could have expected but at least Selena Li gave a splendid performance which were some of the ending highlights that made FH2 memorable. AND who could forget War Of In Laws 2. Classy is the only word i can think of now, which was different from the first whcih relied mostly on cheap mainstream humour which works. Finally, an incorrupt award ceremony

2009 is yet to be concluded but there are so many bright spots which makes a year of recovery in both economic and peoples life. 2009 was a year of adversity whcih many disasters were felt. Still Chai Gao with Wayne Lai, a mere urchin with a remarkable story, warmed our hearts in Rosy Business, Micheal Tse's Laughing Gor stole the lime

light with his antics and goodness beneath his coin flipping exterior and made the big screen in E.U and its movie Turning Point. The scene stealing of these hardworking men who had toiled for their whole tele life, living just to act seems to have been a dream story for anyone and their rise to instant stardom. This is what we need to warm our souls-a good story,good dialogue and real heart. This is what lacked in TVBs dramas for largely the middle 2000s. Already Beyond The Realm Of Conscience has much potential and Born Rich despite poor ratings is quite good. Whats more, a tantalising award fight for both ladies and males in the Best Actress and Best Actor already seem poised.

What more can TVB continue with in 2010? What more can it surprise us with? Another Last One Standing style thriller? A Healing Hands? A GASP War and Beauty? As we usher into the new decade, let us take time to mourn the loss of Chan

Hung Lit,an old actor---unfortunately one of the characters in my new fanfic. An old man 'ill forever remember as Mr Yan. It just reminds me how the actors we see on screen can just disappear forever. What if the star u idolize just died today. Take time to think.

Go fine indeed. He would be living in luxury for life while Moses,well...

They took the lift and walked slowly through the carpark. Moses felt uneasy. There was no free meal in the world. This deal was too good to be true. it was definitely amiss.

"I don't think this deal is right."

Raymond placed his hands in his pocket and lobbed his tongue into his cheek.

Haha,i was writing some review on Laughing Gor's movie then i had an inspiration.Actually not just now,i've been thinking off this for a month, finalising the details. On what?

FANFIC AND DRAMA

(Unnamed of currently)

Plot: (Moses Chan) was framed by his own brother (Raymond Lam) during a business operation to marry into a rich family, leaving younger sisters (Fala Chen) and (Linda Chung) to endure a dark childhood, living in pain and torture. 8 years later, Moses returns with a vengeance with only two simple purposes. Taking care of his sisters and revenge.

I've already written 3 chapters so far and this is going quite well. I haven't decided the cast totally and the name hasn't been settled but ill release a small excerpt of it later on. I'm probably releasing it on Metalle and if all goes well, Winglin. Of course, Stevinda will feature. :)

honestly, my brains are completely burnt out now. no creative topics to talk about. but K-POP VS CANTOPOP is a subject i talk to my sister about alot. so i decided to use it. just to make it clear, we are not just a TVB centered site, we talk about generally everything in the entertainment industry, just that the focus is on HK entertainment & TVB. so here goes.

AFTER ALL THESE TIME OBSERVING THEM, RENEE HAS CONCLUDED:

1. k-pop is better than cantopop/taiwanese music. definitely.
well isn't that obvious? there are too many reasons. (i'm so organised. everything's in point form :D i bet i have OCD or something.)

> the music vids - those korean (and jap) music videos usually have a storyline. like an actual GOOD storyline. the cantopops and taiwanese? well some of them do have a storyline, but hey. they don't SHOW the storyline properly. most of the time, the camera's just on the artiste who's trying to fit the mood of the MV. worst still if the acting sucks or he/she is ugly. don't agree? go watch some nice BIG BANG MVs, try "Sunset Glow", "Lies", "Last Farewell" and "Haru Haru". those are my faves, but the rest are good too. then after that watch a few random taiwanese/HK MVs, you'll see the difference.

> quality - if you notice, korean and jap artistes usually are of higher quality. i'm not saying all of them are, just most. look at 2NE1, their live is almost exactly like the cd. those netizens are really crictical about them as well. like Park Jae Beom if you heard. they are under loads of stress which is kinda sad ): but their performance definitely improves. their dance is just crazy. each korean band is expected to be able to sing, dance, compose, rap, cheograph and give excellent performances. i just saw a Show Luo MV on MTV yesterday night and i was comparing it with Big Bang as usual. isn't Show Luo considered the King of Dance for Taiwan or something like that? but compare again. and Show Luo fades even beside Super Junior, who's dance i mind is only mediocre.

Hey, been gone for two weeks exactly already. Sorry for such a late post. :(

So, what have I been up to?

Watched Moonlight Resonance, Legend Of The Demigods and a bit of Your Class Or MIne.

bleah.bbboriing.

First on Your Class or Mine.

At first,I really thought that Your Class Or Mine was really my cup of tea. I like Bobby, he's funny, Sheren's awesome and still pretty and I like Derek. I love comedies and soccer comedy? that sounded cool.

But after I watched the first three episodes, I found it boring and tasteless. It was cliched, not touching and the comedy wasn't funny. I might not carry on watching it. But I'll give it a chance. We'll see with the rest of the drama.

I finished watching LODG.It was okay,nothing fantastic. My review will come.

NOW FOR MOONLIGHT RESONANCE.

I admit. I love it. I relish every episode. I eagerly watch it. I know why HK viewers love it so much because MR OWNS!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, abit exaggerated,but still. MR's tons better than Herat Of Greed. Every episode is long but not draggy and the amount of emotional scenes are awesome. I love Ah Ka (Yong Jia) and Ah Yuet(Ah Yue) and Hor Ma and Ah Hing(FALA IS HOTHOT.She looks sexy with clothes on more than without clothes on.). But of course,my views havent changed with the Linda Ray Bosco section and I still don't believe MR deserves such high ratings. I mean high is good,but is it really better than War Of Genders? Or does it deserve to win Best Drama among many other gems in 2008. I'm on Episode 17 and well, the answer will come soon. No screenshots apologies.

So, the truth. There is going to be a hiatus. A short one of course.Just enough to last my mugging for finals. Renee's going for one week. I'm going for two weeks-my finals are next next week.Yeah so miss us, when we're back..... What's going to happen when we come back? :D

i swear. mixpod and imeem are all gay. horribly annoyed now. RAHHH! okay. but i managed to edit this skin nicely. gonna try and insert songs and update the "misc" section. anyway, the reason why i haven't been updating is that i've been very busy with school, etc. and all free time has gone to watching and listening to big bang, and sleeping. okayy. so to make up for it, is graphics, icons mainly. since i'm too lazy to do banners and such. and a continuation of Jun-E entry about MR.

it's been awhile since i watched mr. well i finished the whole thing on demand tv in a matter of days. (cost me $39! dammit.) it was waaaaayyyy better than HOG i guess. HOG was stupid women making noise, stupid men getting involved. eek. yet i wouldn't say MR was a very good drama either. the main reason why i enjoyed HOG despite all that crap, was the pairings. i mean, BOTA. my favourite. that hot kiss in the park and all. Tavia cried alot, but she didn't seem like some whiney useless girl like Linda in MR. then there was rayda, i'm not a big fan, but i liked how their relationship was. but i agree the ending scene was just lame. i couldn't stand it. linda and moses doing that childish dance thingy in the rain?! ridiculous! the fact that both the parents died was totally drama. overly drama that i was digusted. okay okay. you're gonna die if i continue writing like this. so let's do it in point form.

reasons why MR & HOG were disappointments:

#1 arrangement of roles.

HOG: isn't ray supposed to be a guest character? then why is he in so many scenes? he has much more scences than fala, chris, tavia and even bosco, who are all main/side characters. doesn't make sense. and this also relates to tvb's treatment of artistes. i won't state it clearly, because if i did, i would be cursing like mad now.MR: bosco bosco bosco. why is he so small in there. :\

#2 dramatic and lame.

HOG: this is a huge point. which family, no matter how bonded, would do such lame stuff. i mean, they are making it so obvious they're trying too hard to show how close the family are. too bad, it doesn't work at all. ):

#3 no changes in some characters.

HOG & MR: louise lee. god. her character in MR is an exact duplicate of HOG, just that their background and outfits whatnot are different. can't they come out with something else?

i'll stop here for now. lazy person ma. ):

Really really annoyed.

When did they say A Watchdog's Tale and The Beauty Of The Game was coming out?

First they said April,then May,then June,then July,then August then September.

Now,In The Chamber Of Bliss is showing instead.And October's booked for Born Rich and Beyond The Realm Of Conscience.

Cum them.

Is TVB some fickle-minded woman?

Everyone who has ever talked to me knows I'm hardcore Stevinda.And after AJCL,ive been craving them like CRAZY.I saw AWT and I was like okay,im watching this.I mean Steven as a pervert and jerk like me?WOW.Linda as a flat-chested girl...uh...not too keen on that..hehe..but she apparently changes midway through.There's also super hot LLC(koni lui),Kent and boasts of Maggie Shiu and another Raymond--Raymond Wong.This is very much a sequel to AJCL.Just no Fala and Raymond Cho.I like Wong better and i like Maggie so this appealed much to me.

Beauty Of The Game is,as i wrote,an exciting drama with hot babes. Sharon CHan(YES) as a drug addict,Kate,Christine and Kingdom.All quite reliable actresses(i have reservations with Kate though) which tackles showbiz issues.To put it-Female darker version of Korea's On Air.Just....a lacking of male leads.i mean,Lai Lok Yi?Had it been Steven or Raymond or Bosco or whatever this drama might be a classic.Ill have to wait and see though.

All this anger is out now.Ive been pissed for the past months.I highly doubt TBOTG will show this year and AWT basically will not have any chance of winning any awards with the terrible timing.So now what?What can I expect? I now rather both dramas get released in 2010 no than being warehoused,which was my initial drastic hopes afte seeing release dates being pushed again and again.

TVB however,managed to prep me up and soften me up.Legend Of PuSongling,which looks fantastic, stars Stevinda,Sunny Chan and Fala Chen, all excellent artistes in my eyes.I think Legend will be a hit next year.Transfered Connections of Temptation(i think) looks equally good and hambug! feels like Illumination!(more on this excellent fanfic on next post).Then there's someothers which i won't elaborate. So what?

June is looking forward to 2010.

The Heart is Bigger Than the Moon?

Moonlight Resonance's hitting Singapore...in a day!xD

It's a bit late, but well....we've gotten used to it.(damn you cable)

Honestly,i'm probably going to watch the first few episodes and give up...selective watching at best.

I TRIED watching in on mysoju before.Got past my poor cantonese and stuff...managed to watch to Episode 10 i think.

I couldn't carry on.Too soap-operaey.

I could watch Heart Of Greed mainly cause obviously the producers obviously put in effort.It's got some class and thought(except for the ending,wth is with that court thingy.)The characters are likaeble and realistic

I felt that MR was too obvious TVB was just trying to catch on with a sequel-more classic dialogue, bitchy women,yeah..so on.

But the audience likes it,they argue.

Yeah,they do.The ratings show that.

But....

I feel that the Moonlight really isn't as good as people say.I mean,look at the pairings and charcters.

The characters arent as well developed as Heart's.

Seung Joi Sum is way better than Yu So Chau.Who can stand Linda Chung whining over having too many hot bfs in her hands over every single episodes?I can't.Even though i love linda.And I dislike Rayda.(ignore me,just jealousy.)

And Louise Lee's character in MR is virtually the same in HOG.

Honestly,MR doesn't deserve taking home Best Drama.Last One Standing should have won it.I mean,2008 had some seriously fine dramas like D.I.E,Catch Me Now,A Journey Called Life etc.MR shouldnt have won.Everyone knew it would win,but everyone knew it also probably didn't really deserve to win.

MR is watchable,and definitely an A-Class,but more of a A-class soap opera.

A fine cast and good acting makes MR very watchable though.

I'm still watching this.

But i'm still disappointed.

Anyway, you probably want to know about my life. Well, finals are up pretty soon and the Sept hols(aka hell study periods) . Im not sure about B,but when I last chatted with her on MSN,she's pretty busy with loaaads of stuff.Actually,I think I started this blog at the way wrong time. i clearly know this is the busiest part of my schedule.Maths,oh Maths.All i want to say is-F You.actually i almost got an F for Maths.I hate Maths.It's a long story, involving calculators and the forgetting to use it even when it was right in front of me.I shant bore you down.I'm not Myolie Wu.

So, this blog will go on with regular posting.I can't bear to kill another one.I love the layout.Awesomeness beatrice.

First, sorry for the late post.Ive been dying at home with somed bad cough.I missed Teacher's Day Celebrations and Mousehunt.(I'm been overtaken by some people le.Damn.).I havent really catched up on DIE Again and You're Hired.Just a bit of TV and WCLAD.And...Moonlight's coming up on cable soon!More thoughts on that soon.

Anyway,back to topic.This post was meant to be and is a tribute to metalAZNwarrior,host of the TVB Musings site.Most people know this site.Its an awesome TVB site.One of my favs.Actually it is my fav.i remember when i actually realised there was such things as the Internet to find out about TVB in Primary 6.hehe.A bit late,i know.ANYWAY.I remember this was the 2nd site I went to.First was Jayne Stars.then Musings,though i didnt know it then.I remember it was in the HOG layout,the one with Linda writing her blog or sth,in green.

Since then,Sec One's been a revelation.Im not that tech idiot any more,im a bak kwa(nosy) idiot.surfing the net actually is fun.And well,surfing the net now appeals more than playing video games(LOL.I though id never say that.)

And then,in the beginning of the year,i tried going back to Musings.

That was a bleeding problem though.

With the internet.

i think metal resides in the States,where well,you know where we live anyway i guess.So there was this freaking code 404 problem.I tried for a month or so.irritating like hell.Couldnt go into it.so i just stuck to K for TVB.But she was,well cutting down on posting.

Then,it worked.In all awesomeness.I think there was mantainance or sth like that.Just like that,i became a Musings fan.Very unfortunately for me and the readers,there was what i call "The Transition".That is,all the top-notch TVB bloggers are growing up.They have jobs and a damn busy life trying to hump the hottest girls on the streets(jkjk,that's me.).

Anyway,everyone like windygoddess,started to really cut down on their post.Metal decided to retire by 1st September 2009.This news saddened me,like every other reader.

Its September the 2nd.And its a day since metal gave his last post.http://virtuesofharmony.net/blog/. Repercussions have not been felt-YET.But ill always miss his writing.

metal's an awesome writer.Just like me.(so modest.) i love his interesting posts and refreshing views-you can really tell he has grown as a viewer.I love his jaded TVB views.They add a different dimention to his writing. and he's a Linda fan :D Whee...

Actually, my decision to bring up our TVB blog was partly due to his decision.i wanted to blog,that was the main reason. i also really wanted to contribute to the TVB community after he left.

He has left.And his writings will forever be remembered.metalAZNwarrior,i salute thee!

You'll really be missed by me.And everyone.

First Thoughts On D.I.E Again

I watched D.I.E just a few months ago in May or April on cable TV and enjoyed it.If you were looking for some serious soaps,I would recommend you so not to take up D.I.E.It was well,funny,most of the time nonsensical and stupid and at times ridiculous.Still,it was great fun and most of the cases were interesting and required some thinking.Yue Sir's(Roger Kwok) "telepathy" graphic joke was lame at first and I got freaking annoyed with it.But I grew to live with it(not like it).Ching Ching(Sonijia Kwok) is physically not really compatible with Roger,but their chemistry was alright and quite good.The two always were the butt of jokes,I remember.

But my favourite characters wasn't Roger,unlike other dramas. I liked Derek Kwok's Ching Yee way more instead.He was absolutely funny and cool.This is hard i say,when you are wearing Bruce Lee's yellow outfit.Most people look weird and a joke.Derek looked cool.Sucking his lollipops was SO ROFL.He looked cute with Margie Tsang despite neither of them being like terribly good-looking.Awesome chemistry,funny characters,killer combination.I liked them the best.Their love story was a bit cliched,but well,that's TVB.

Thus,when I heard D.I.E Again won't have Margie,ithought that would be bloody retarded.I mean, they went through so much just to break up? LOL.classic tvb cliches.

OKAY,seriously,this is damn late and DIE Again probably is in its 9th episode now,dont blame me-blame MH. Anyway,I watched Episode 1(A bit)It was quite ridiculous and stuff.Way too much not funny humour and overused jokes on babies.But hey,its DIE.One thing I noticed was from the themevideo that there are going to be quite a few frightenening and bloody scenes.If that's so,sign me on.I am so watching D.I.E Again.xD boys....

Yes,No More "Under Construction"

Welcome back.We were actually from reviewsfromanotebook-tvb.blogspot.com but well "under construction" has been at that blog for 7 months.Taking a hard look at the failure,I guess we were too ambitious,especially me.I thought we could reach TVB Musings or K For TVB in one short blog,with reviews and stuff,while we moved toward TVB news when it got too hard.This wasn't exactly fun for me.We were also way too ambitious for the blog layout.I mean it was awesome,credit to Renee for her superb skills but i guess we never reached a point where we actually agreed what it would look like.Our schedules were way too apart.Poor communication skills and extremely annoying "blog-ditching" by me caused its death...fast.After the holidays,there was nary a chance it could survive for long.
We're back again.This time in different atmospheres,different schools,hectic schedules and exams.So,what made us do this blog again?Well,the passion in me for blogging was rising.Previously,I blogged cause it seemed cool but now i really love typing out meaningful long entries.It's a real joy blogging.
I'm also bloody enthu about TVB now and so is Renee.First sites I visit when I turn on my com are TVB Musings,Illumination,K For TVB,Facebook and Sony Erricson Free Games.3 out of 5 are TVB related.I'm also really bak kwa now,i just love scooping up juicy news about my stars.(GOD.Im bad.) Almost all my songs in my phone and MP3 player are C-Pop or Theme Songs(except for green day,pirates,breaking benjamin and linkin park) I find it really fun to talk about TVB.It's my life again.I still have energy despite long crammings.I'm sure Renee's pretty enthu about both now but im not too sure of the details.Wait for her post.
Finally,I promise to update frequently.There will be reviews,news and SURPRISE---my fanfic and maybe our drama scipts.Maybe.Just wait."under construction" Viva La Vida.
